Late Billionaire Businessman Godwin Chinedu Lucky Adimike
A Nigerian billionaire businessman has been brutally killed in his mansion in the capital city of Abuja.
Social media reports say that Chief Godwin Chinedu Lucky Adimike, popularly known as “Egonaejeije Na Awka-Etiti”, was stabbed to death by his 19–20-year-old son after a heated argument. The 53-year-old business mogul, said to be a big player in the famous Alaba International Market, Lagos, hailed from Awka-Etiti in Idemili South local government area of Anambra State. His obituary poster sighted by News Express indicates that he was killed last week, specifically on Friday, May 15, 2026.
According to an Instagram post by someone going by the name md_olivia199, “The death of Godwin Chinedu Lucky Adimike, popularly known as “Egonaejeije Na Awka-Etiti,” has left many people in deep shock and mourning. A man widely known for his generosity, kindness, and support for the less privileged, whose name echoed across Awka-Etiti and beyond because of his philanthropic lifestyle, sadly met a painful and heartbreaking end allegedly in the hands of his own son. Reports say the respected businessman and philanthropist was allegedly stabbed to death by his 19–20-year-old son after a heated argument.
“According to reports, the ugly incident happened in Abuja after a misunderstanding reportedly linked to money and family business issues. Sources alleged that the young man, who was said to be serving under the NYSC scheme, confronted his father over financial matters before the argument escalated into violence. The late philanthropist was reportedly stabbed multiple times and later confirmed dead at the hospital. The suspect is currently in police custody while investigations continue.
“What an abomination and a painful tragedy indeed. A man known for helping widows, supporting the church, empowering people, and touching lives positively did not deserve such an ending. Many people who knew him described him as a humble and cheerful giver whose doors were always open to the needy. During the COVID-19 period, he reportedly distributed food items and cash worth millions to members of his community in Awka-Etiti, showing his heart for humanity and the welfare of others.
“This heartbreaking incident is a reminder that anger, lack of self-control, and family conflicts can destroy lives within seconds. It is also a painful lesson that wealth, fame, and influence cannot replace peace at home. The entire Awka-Etiti community, friends, business associates, and loved ones are mourning the fall of a great iroko tree.”
