The Nigerian Army has officially released the list of shortlisted candidates for the Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Course 50/2027 Selection Board.
In a public announcement issued on its X account on Thursday, the Army stated that the names of successful applicants are now available on its official recruitment website, nashortservice.army.mil.ng.
“Shortlisted candidates have been directed to report to the Nigerian Defence Academy Ribadu Campus (Old Site) in Kaduna State starting on 23 November 2026.
“The Selection Board exercise is scheduled to run from 23 November to 11 December 2026. The SSCC programme offers qualified Nigerian civilians and serving military personnel the opportunity to be commissioned as officers into the Combat Arms (Infantry and Armour) and Combat Support Arms (Artillery, Engineers, Signals, and Intelligence).
“Successful candidates who complete training are typically commissioned as Second Lieutenants on a 15-year short service commission,” the Nigerian Army stated.
Applicants who applied between mid-August and October 17, 2026 were advised to visit the official portal immediately to confirm whether their names appear on the shortlist and to note any specific reporting instructions or required documents.
Candidates should prepare original copies of all submitted credentials, including educational certificates, birth or age declaration documents, state of origin certificate, NIN and BVN slips, and properly signed photo-slips and guarantor forms.
The Army has repeatedly warned the public to disregard unofficial websites, agents, or individuals demanding payment for recruitment-related services. All stages of the process remain free of charge.
Those shortlisted are encouraged to prepare thoroughly for the medical, physical, and interview stages of the Selection Board.
The Nigerian Army continues to emphasise merit, fitness, and transparency in its officer commissioning process.
“For the most accurate and up-to-date information, candidates and the general public are directed solely to the official recruitment website: nashortservice.army.mil.ng,” the post read. (The PUNCH)
