Captains James Adaviruku Onipe and Ikechukwu Paul-Ugochukwu
Air Peace has appointed Captains James Adaviruku Onipe and Ikechukwu Paul-Ugochukwu as Director of Flight Operations and Chief Pilot, respectively, effective November 1, 2026.
The airline said the appointments are part of efforts to strengthen its flight operations leadership and support its expanding operations.
Onipe, who has almost 20 years of experience flying different aircraft types, currently serves as Air Peace’s Embraer 145 Fleet Manager and Trainer/Check Airman.
His experience covers flight safety, crew proficiency, operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
Paul-Ugochukwu brings 22 years of aviation industry experience to his new position. He currently serves as a Boeing 777 Type Rating Instructor and Check Airman, with responsibilities covering pilot training, technical proficiency and operational standards.
Their appointments follow the elevation of the outgoing Director of Flight Operations, Captain Augustin Kamano, and former Chief Pilot, Captain Martin Okunpolor, to higher positions within the Air Peace Group.
The airline said the changes reflect its commitment to recognising professional experience, supporting career progression and developing leadership from within the organisation.
Air Peace said the handover process has commenced as it continues to strengthen its workforce and build the leadership capacity needed to support its growing operations.
The airline also congratulated Onipe and Paul-Ugochukwu on their appointments and wished them success in their new roles. (Arise News)
