Veteran Nollywood actor Bob-Manuel Udokwu has reacted after false reports of his death began circulating online.
Udokwu revealed that his children were the first to see the viral post before he became aware of it. According to him, they quickly alerted him after noticing the claim.
“My children were the ones who saw the news before I did, and they came to tell me about it.”
Speaking on the With Chude Podcast, the actor explained that the fake report was shared alongside a manipulated image showing his head placed on another person’s body lying on a hospital bed.
“They took my head and placed it on a body lying on a hospital bed,” he said.
He explained that the report falsely claimed that he had died, and the image was created by editing his old photographs and attaching them to the hospital bed picture to make the story look real.
“They used some of my old photographs, pasted them in the right places, and wrote that I had died.”
Udokwu said the incident left him upset, but his children advised him not to involve the police or the Department of State Services (DSS) to trace the person behind the report.
“My children, especially my daughter, told me not to go to the police or the DSS to find the person responsible and make them pay. They advised me to leave it alone,” He added. (Tribune)
