Women in Shipping and Trade Association (WISTA) Nigeria has described the commissioning and official launch of the Cabotage Vessel Financing Fund (CVFF) Application Portal as a major milestone in the Nigerian maritime industry.
WISTA Nigeria, in a statement signed by its President, Dr. Odunayo Ani, congratulated the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) on the launch of the portal, describing it as a forward-looking initiative that enhances transparency and improves access for industry stakeholders.
“On behalf of the women maritime associations in the Nigerian maritime industry, and in my capacity as President of WISTA Nigeria, I warmly congratulate the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, led by Honourable Minister Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, and NIMASA under the leadership of Director-General, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, on the commissioning and official launch of the CVFF Application Portal,” Ani said.
She noted that the portal represents a significant step toward modernising maritime processes, adding that it strengthens confidence among operators and investors. According to her, “this milestone marks a significant advancement in our sector, promoting ease of access, transparency, and efficiency while reflecting strong leadership and a shared commitment to sustainable growth in the marine and blue economy.”
Ani further commended the minister and the NIMASA director-general for what she described as their strategic vision and commitment to addressing longstanding challenges in the industry. “The commissioning of this portal is a testament to deliberate efforts to modernise processes, deepen stakeholder engagement, and unlock new opportunities across the maritime value chain,” she stated.
She reaffirmed WISTA Nigeria’s support for reforms that promote equity, professionalism, and innovation, particularly for women in the maritime ecosystem. “As women in the maritime sector, we look forward to continued collaboration with the Ministry, NIMASA, and other stakeholders to build a more resilient, competitive, and inclusive industry,” Ani added.
The CVFF Application Portal is expected to streamline access to cabotage financing and improve transparency in the administration of the fund.
