By PAMELA EBOH, Awka
Officers of the Operation Udo Ga-Ach? security outfit in Anambra State have dismantled another notorious camp of gunmen who all confessed to be indigenes of Abakaliki in Ebonyi State but occupying a section of the bush in Achalla, Awka North Local Government Area of the state.
The criminal elements who are part of the people terrorizing the state were captured during the raid of their camp by the security outfit following a credible intelligence on the activities and the hideouts of the said criminal elements.
According to a video making the rounds on social media security operatives, during the joint operation with Man Pass Man, had a fierce gun duel with the gang members at the camp, before seven of them were arrested, while several dangerous weapons, including bombs, arms and ammunition were also recovered.
Meanwhile, as they were being interrogated by the security operatives, who also recounted their experience and encounter with the gunmen in the jungle, seven of the arrested criminals introduced themselves as Ebonyi indigenes.
The notorious ones among the arrested hoodlums include the popular Small, School Boy, Pepper, among others.
According the male voice narrator, Small and Pepper almost disappeared into the wall, but Small was shot on the feet while trying to escape with his charms.
Also included among them was Ebuka Okonkwo (from Ebonyi State), who allegedly buys the vehicles the gunmen snatched from people and sells them off as scraps.
While the actual date of the raid was not included in the video, efforts to confirm details of the operation from the Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Toochukwu Ikenga failed as his mobile line could not be reached.
