Kogi SDP Guber Candidate Muri Ajaka
By ABUBAKAR YUSUF
SDP candidate for the November 11, 2023 governorship election in Kogi, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, has accused Kogi State government of warning issuing to traditional rulers against receiving him in their palaces during the electioneering campaigns.
Ajaka who bared his mind through a statement in Idah on Wednesday said it was unfortunate that the state government has continued to ostracize the traditional class through bastardization of the culture of Kogi people.
He regretted that under the current administration, the traditional class has become not only a tool, but a target of denigration by the kogi state government, a situation he promised to correct when he assumes power in the state, by the grace of God.
“The traditional class is living in fear and threat of being dethroned because of overzealous leadership style going on in Kogi state.
“We are already blessed by the spirit of our forefathers in Kogi State, but the need to start on a clean slate was desirable.
“We are convinced that the infectious crowd is the fear of the current leadership but freedom is on the way for the people of Kogi State in the next dispensation,” Ajaka said.
He urged his teeming supporters across the state to be fearless and determined to vote out the “aberration in Kogi under APC,” saying the current administration was the worst thing that has happened to the state.
He promised to Implement the opposite policies of the present administration that had pauperized “our once” vibrant civil service, responsive business class and entrepreneurs, promising to address the anomaly in the state that has been lingering for about 8 years.
He thanked his teeming supporters for their resolve to resist the third term of Yahaya Bello, saying Kogi would be the worst hit when APC was allowed to return to power.
It was learnt that a circular was issued via the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, warning traditional rulers in the state not to host the SDP candidate in their domains or bless him for the forthcoming electioneering campaigns in the state.
