Chidoka assures on implementation of Aviation Revenue Automation Project

Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, has assured Nigerians that the Aviation Revenue Automation Project (ARAP) aimed at automating all aviation related activities in the airports in the country will be implemented to the letter.

He this assurance recently when he met with the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of the ministry’s parastatals and agencies in Abuja, noting that there was no going back on the project.

The minister added that any chief executive who fails to comply with the implementation of ARAP within 60 days would be seriously sanctioned.

An integral part of the Transformation Agenda of the Goodluck Jonathan administration, ARAP is aimed at automating all aviation related activities in all the airports in Nigeria to provide revenue assurance for the industry. It is also intended to increase the efficiency of Nigerians and workers in the aviation industry, and also enable the agencies in the aviation sector deliver higher quality services to Nigerians and to make for increased revenue generation and to create credible Data source for the aviation industry.

ARAP, according to Chidoka, is structured and empowered to bring to reality the vision and mission of the aviation industry, which is to make the industry a world-class provider of safe, secured and comfortable transport industry that is self-sustaining and pivotal to social economic growth, and to transform the sector into an efficient, profitable and preferred mode of transportation.

He admonished all stakeholders in the aviation sector to embrace the project and be on the same page with him so as to realise his dream aviation sector which is to take the sector to the next level of meeting with international best practices.

The minister consequently constituted an inter-agency Management Committee to see to the challenges, harmonisation implementation and success of ARAP.
