Hon. Muhammad Bello Yakubu Bakyasuwa, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Dosara/Birnin Kaya Ward, Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State, has resigned his membership of the party with immediate effect.

Bakyasuwa announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the APC Chairman of Dosara/Birnin Kaya Ward, citing personal convictions and dissatisfaction with the Federal Government’s handling of the persistent insecurity in Zamfara State.

In the letter, he expressed concern over the continued banditry and killings of innocent residents across the state, saying that the APC-led Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had not done enough to effectively tackle the security crisis.

He also questioned what he described as insufficient political will to bring the prolonged insecurity to an end.

“This decision is based on personal convictions, particularly my dissatisfaction with the inability of the APC-led Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to effectively address the persistent banditry and wanton killings of innocent people in Zamfara State,” Bakyasuwa stated.

He added that he was also concerned about what he perceived as a lack of sufficient political will to end the security challenges confronting the state.

Bakyasuwa thanked the party for the opportunity to serve as a member but confirmed that his resignation was with immediate effect.

His resignation comes amid growing concerns over banditry, kidnapping and attacks on communities in Zamfara State, where security remains a major political and public concern.

The development could further fuel debate within the political circles of Maradun and Zamfara State over the Federal Government’s response to insecurity and the political implications of the prolonged security crisis. (Weekend Trust, excluding headline)
