National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Dr. Victor Oye, has said that only a candidate who is capable of consolidating Governor Willie Obiano’s achievements and improve on them will fly the party’s flag during the 2021 governorship election in the state.
He disclosed this in Awka while featuring, Tuesday, on a programme on the state television, ABS, tagged, “Good Morning Anambra”.
There are indications that big names such as former Governor of Central Bank, Prof. Charles Soludo, an American-based medical Doctor and philanthropist, Dr. Godwin Maduka,Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, Stanley Uzochukwu, among others, are among the people warming up to contest APGA’s ticket.
Speaking on the topic, “APGA and Political Development in Nigeria”, Oye insisted that the Governor has done better than any other administration in the State, adding that his good work and acceptance by the voting population of the state will help the party win the 2021 governorship election with ease.
He reeled Obiano’s achievements to include improved security network, prompt payment of workers’ salaries and other emoluments.
While pointing out that roads in Anambra State are currently undergoing reconstruction, Oye assured that the current administration will continue to deliver dividends of democracy to Ndi Anambra.
He said: “Ndi Anambra in Diaspora who are coming home to celebrate Christmas with their loved ones would do so with ease, as the state is safe and lively for their merriment.”
On the issue of insecurity in Nigeria, the APGA National Chairman said that if the party gets a shot at the centre, it will replicate what it has achieved in the state by ensuring that adequate security is made available to all Nigerians even as he maintained that the party’s ideology is centered on human development.
