The Senate during plenary
The Nigerian Senate on Thursday confirmed the nomination of three persons to be appointed as Career Ambassadors-Designate.
The confirmation came after the consideration of the report of the Committee on Foreign Affairs on the Confirmation of nominations of the persons for appointment as Career Ambassadors-Designate submitted by Senator Monsurat Sunmonu.
They are: Messrs Christopher C. Chejina from Delta State; Bukar Kolo from Yobe State; and M.A. Mabdul from Benue State.
President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, wished them a successful tenure, saying: “On behalf of my entire colleagues of the 8th Senate, let me congratulate the three (3) new career Ambassadors-Designate. I wish you a successful tenure as you continue to work for our great country.”
Also today, the Senate confirmed the appointment of the Chairman of National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Dr. Kabiru Nakaura, and other members of the board.
The confirmation came after the consideration of report of Senate Committee on National Planning and Economic Affairs chaired by Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.
