Governor Yahaya Bello
The Member representing Ankpa 1 State Constituency and the Deputy Majority Leader of Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed, has said that the re-election of Governor Yahaya Bello in November 2019 is a task that must be accomplished.
Addressing a group of visiting journalists on Tuesday, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed said the Governor, within the last three years, has laid solid foundations and only the continuity of his administration will guarantee putting superstructures on the face of a new Kogi State.
“Power,” according to him, “defines many things. We know many projects ongoing in Kogi East, Central and West, and we don’t want them to stop. Ankpa Township road, which was abandoned for so many years by previous governments, is a typical example. The people of Ankpa Local Government Area, will go for GYB. We have to choose between options; One is to go back to Egypt and other option is to go ahead to Canaan land.
“Why some persons cannot see it is because his administration is laying the foundation. It is like when you want to build a house, people who are walking past may not see the foundation until you put a super structure there. It is now the time to put that structure and only those who are involved in the foundation will understand it.”
The lawmaker also cited the landslide victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which swept the 25 seats in the House of Assembly in Kogi State during the recent polls as an indication that the Governor is fully in charge of the party structure in the state.
“Now that we have APC taken over the Assembly, and all the seats in Kogi East, I assure you that the votes can only increase this time around, and we will sustain it,” the lawmaker said.
