Hon Offor
A member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Onyebuchi Offor, on Saturday gave the assurance of the readiness of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to checkmate the activities of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the state to ensure the right thing is done without fighting anybody.
Offor, who is a two-time lawmaker, expressed joy that he will no longer be a lone PDP member in the State Assembly as five other lawmakers from his political party are joining the new assembly.
Recall that PDP won six seats, while the remaining 26 seats in the state House of Assembly were taken by APGA.
The representative of Ekwusigo constituency, promised to join hands with his party members and those from APGA to checkmate the Executive arm of government.
He said: “I’m happy I’ve gotten brothers (colleagues in minority). In my first tenure, I was a lone voice in the wilderness. I didn’t have any supporter. Even if I had any, I didn’t know where they belonged to.
“But today, I now have five more able men who will join me not to destabilise the house, but to make sure we checkmate the assembly.”
The lawmaker hailed voters in his constituency for reelecting him, even as he promised to reciprocate the gesture through quality and robust representation.
