Governor Okowa
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Mr. Chuks Obianukor, has expressed optimism that the party is fully prepared to return Governor Ifeanyi Okowa back to power on March 9, 2019.
Speaking recently with journalists in Asaba, the state capital, Mr. Obianukor said that PDP is going everywhere in the state educating voters on the right way to go and the need to vote for Okowa for a second term.
Obianukor appealed to Deltans to come out en masse to vote for Governor Okowa on March 9, 2019.
He noted that the Okowa administration has given the state a very visual testimony which everyone can feel, adding: “We have given out cars, jobs, rehabilitated and constructed roads, touched lives through human capital development and job creation, Okowa has made progress in the development of Delta State. We enjoined every electorate to come out to vote for Okowa for continuity.”
Reacting to the presidential election results announced by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Obianukor described the results as manipulated in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He said that PDP is a peaceful party and expects INEC to operate independently.
Obianukor affirmed that PDP is not satisfied with the results announced by INEC “for the fact that there were much of malpractices during the Presidential and National Assembly elections.”
He added that PDP will not let go of the victory but challenge their result in court.
Said Obianukor: “We are good politicians with reputation and character. We didn’t see the need of engaging in rigging. It is unfortunate that INEC joined APC to rig the February 23 elections in Nigeria.”
