PDP Guber candidate, Jimi Agbaje
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Lagos State, Jimi Agbaje, has described the Saturday, March 9, 2019 governorship election in the state as a straight choice between continuing in mediocrity or opting for a positive change.
Agbaje, who spoke weekend at one of his town hall meetings, called on Lagosians to make the right choice because a vote for him is a vote for performance, transparency, inclusion, infrastructural development, improved access to education and health care; youth development, accountability and elimination of secrecy in government, among others.
According to him, “After nearly 20 years, and in spite of over four trillion naira spent, a large percentage of Lagosians still do not have access to pipe borne water. And a good number of our people live in slums and unsuitable neighbourhoods.
“Over 50 per cent of our children do not sit for/pass their WAEC O/L and Lagos is still ranked as the third worst out of 140 cities to live in the world.
“The change I promise, on the other hand, is a new way of addressing the challenges of a mega city estimated to have a population of 30 to 35 million people in the next ten years.
“Therefore, change for us is making available, homes for the ordinary man, hundred thousand internships and vocational placements for young people, 80 per cent improvement in WAEC pass rate and even more.
“These objectives, inspiring as they are, can only be achieved with your support and co-operation and that is the reason I am enlisting your support for this project. As I say always, the task to free Lagos is the duty of all and I am counting on you.”
