President Buhari
Incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 798,428 votes to beat Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 209,313 votes in Bauchi State in last Saturday’s presidential election.
Prof. Alhassan Ghani, the State Collation Officer, announced the result after collation from the 20 local government areas of the state in the early hours of Tuesday in Bauchi.
Similarly, Buhari has been declared winner in Jigawa State by a large margin.
Prof. Abdullahi Zuru, Vice Chancellor of Usman Danfodio University Sokoto, who is the State Collation Officer for the election, announced the result in Dutse late on Monday.
He said that Buhari scored 794,738 to defeat Atiku, his closest rival, who got 289,895 votes.
