US embassy, Abuja
The United States Embassy in Nigeria has announced temporary shutdown of its operations in Abuja and Lagos to allow its local employees exercise their rights to vote tomorrow.
A statement yesterday by the public affairs section noted that the Federal Government declared today as a work-free day to enable Nigerians prepare for the rescheduled presidential and national assembly elections.
“In recognition of this declaration and to encourage all our Nigerian employees to exercise their right to vote, the U.S. Embassy in Abuja and the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos will be closed.”
The statement disclosed that during the period, “No consular services will be available. If you already have a regular visa or ACS appointment for that date, you will be contacted for rescheduling.”
