Governor Okowa
Ijaws in Delta State will vote massively for the Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, during the March 2, 2019 governorship election due to the massive projects his administration has undertaken in the riverine communities of the state.
The above is the conviction of the Founder of Shedrack Agediga Foundation (SAF), Mr Shedrack Agediga.
Agediga, who is the Special Assistant to Governor Okowa on Conflict Management, expressed the conviction while recently addressing newsmen in Warri, the economic capital of the state.
He described Okowa’s achievements in the riverine communities as unprecedented, saying: “Over the years, the riverine communities have been abandoned but today Governor Okowa’s administration has remembered the people in the riverine communities.”
“Governor Okowa,” according to Agediga, “within a short time has been able to construct Ogidigben internal road, Oporoza internal road, Okerenkoko internal roads, Burutu township road phases 1 & 2, Youbebe – Biniebi-ama Road, Obotobo – Sokebolou – Yokiri Road, Obotobo I community internal road, Sokebolou internal road, Burutu Modern Market, funding of Ayakoromo Bridge project, Ogbobagbene – Ojobo Road, construction/renovation of schools.
“The Governor also executed widows’ empowerment programmes, and made several board and political appointments of sons and daughters from riverine communities, in addition to STEP/YAGEP training and empowerment programmes which benefited our people.
“For the Governor’s massive development projects in our riverine communities, we will pay him back by massively voting for him come March 2nd Governorship Election.”
