The All Progressives Congress (APC) has promised to provide more infrastructures that would enhance the industrial development in Ekiti State if the people of the state overwhelmingly vote and re-elect President Muhammadu Buhari.

Speaking Tuesday in Ado Ekiti, during the party’s presidential campaign rally in Ado-Ekiti, President Buhari said the APC-led Federal Government is committed to extending the newly redesigned Lagos-Kano railway line to pass through Ekiti State as a way of boosting the economy of the state.

Buhari, who said his government is also working on some federal roads in the state, mentioned the efforts of his administration in boosting power generation across the country; adding that the fight against corruption is also ongoing to ensure that the nation’s resources are judiciously used.

He thanked the people of the State for coming out en masse to welcome him and urged them to vote for him and the APC in the forthcoming general elections.

The Afenifere Group, led by Senator Ayo Fasanmi, which a week earlier had endorsed President Buhari’s candidacy also reinstated their resolve to work for the success of the President in coming general election.

Senator Fasanmi, Chief Bisi Akande and Senator Bola Ajmed Tinubu, while addressing the crowd insisted that the Fasanmi-led Afenifere Group remained the authentic representatives of the Yoruba. They urged the Yoruba to disregard the other Afenifere faction which is in support of the PDP.

“The Fasanmi-led Afenifere is the authentic Afenifere. You can see that all the elected governors of the sis south west states are with us. Majority of our elected representatives are here, so disregard the impostors,” they declared.

While reiterating why the electorate should vote for the APC, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo said Buhari has kept faith with the pact he made with the people by serving them sincerely; adding that some of the projects currently being executed by the present APC government were budgeted for in the 16 years of the PDP leadership at the national level but were left undone.

Osinbajo noted that the highest earning from crude oil by Nigeria was between 2010 and 2014 but stated that there was nothing to show for it during the period.

He disclosed that the Federal Government is planning to increase N-Power beneficiaries from 500,000 to 1,500,000 as a way of reducing unemployment in the country.

In his remarks, Governor Kayode Fayemi urged Ekitis and Yorubas in general to rally support for Buhari because the South West people are known as progressives and will always support the Vice President who is their kinsman.

Fayemi who recalled how Ekiti people voted for him in the July 14 governorship election which he won, stated that his performance in the last 100 days is a call on the people to always remain firm supporters of the APC.

The governor assured the president of overwhelming votes for the President.

“Ekiti people demonstrated the stuff they are made of. They kicked the PDP out of Ekiti. What we have done in the last 100 days has proved that Ekiti people have no choice but to stand with the APC in its agenda. What I get from community leaders is that they will reward us with votes come February 16. In the Southwest, Mr President, you can go and sleep because we are solidly behind you,” he said.

National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, said a vote for Buhari is a vote for integrity and development, adding that the PDP was only interested in plundering the nation’s treasury.
