Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, is reported dead.

A palace source confirmed the death this morning.

“Our Emir is dead,” he said and promised to disclose details later.

Another source said the Emir died in the early hours of today at his Royal Residence in Kano, North-West of Nigeria.
