Governor Amosun
Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has inaugurated a 15-man steering committee towards repositioning and reforming the state civil and public service.
The is aimed at developing the human capacity of the civil servants for greater and faster development of the state.
Inaugurating the committee at the Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, today, the Amosun charged the committee members to be alive to their responsibilities, noting that the success of any government depends largely on the quality of the service.
“We want to review the way we work in the service and embrace world best practices, to bring back the glory of the Western region,” the governor added.
He reiterated his government’s commitment towards leaving a system driven environment in all the sectors of the economy, where institutions, rather than individuals, are developed.
According to him, the government is collaborating with the Department for International Development (DFID) and the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN), also in furtherance of its desire to strengthen the Civil Service.
In his remarks, the state Head of Service, Mr. Abayomi Sobande, appreciated the governor for the commitment to his administration to the welfare of civil servants.
He stated that the state is strengthening the Civil Service to be self-sustaining, especially in the areas of training and capacity building.
