Like a prophecy fulfilled, News Express was today proved right when Chief Mike Oghiadomhe, the powerful Chief of Staff to President Goodluck Jonathan, lost his job. News Express had on July 16 and September 19 last year authoritatively reported that Oghiadomhe’s days in office were numbered and that his exit was being delayed as a mark of respect for his political godfather, Chief Tony Anenih, Chairman, Board of Trustees, of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party.
Oghiadomhe was finally showed the exit door today when he threw in the towel after being directed to resign by Jonathan, whom he has served since his days as Vice President in 2007, first as Deputy Chief of Staff, and then as Chief of Staff on Jonathan’s assumption of office as President in 2010.
Announcing Oghiadomhe’s ouster, Reuben Abati, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, told newsmen at the Presidential Villa that Oghiadomhe resigned to pursue his political career. Oghiadomhe is nursing the ambition of becoming the next governor of his home state, Edo.
