The late Abdullah Adamu after being brutalized by his accusers
A husband and his wife have been gruesomely murdered in Plateau State over allegations of witchcraft.
A report by security expert Zagazola Makama identified the victims as Mr. Abdullah Adamu, 58, and his wife, Habiba Ibrahim, 45. The report said that the couple were attacked and killed in their community, Tabga/Dogon Ruwa village, located in Bashar District of Wase Local Government Area.
It said that troops of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have arrested three suspects in connection with the heinous act.
Zagazola.org said it was informed by security sources that troops of Sector 2 OPEP arrested the suspects at about 11:50 p.m. on Nov. 4, 2026, following a report of the killings.
“The suspects were identified as Hussaini Mallam Yusufu, 22, and Ishaku Sule, 24, while the identity of the third suspect was yet to be disclosed.
“Preliminary investigation reportedly revealed that the suspects claimed during interrogation that he dreamt that the wife was a witch and she was planning to attack him, which he cited as the reason for the attack,” the report said.
It added that the suspects remain in custody and have been profiled for further investigation and necessary action.
