Nollywood actress, Toyosi Adesanya has recounted her difficult journey to motherhood, revealing that she underwent five surgeries in 2022 while trying to conceive.

In an interview with Oyinmomo TV, the actress said she had five surgeries in 2022 alone, adding that her doctor eventually asked her to stop.

“In 2022, I did five surgeries. I did so many surgeries my doctor told me Enough of this,” she said.

Adesanya, who welcomed a baby girl with her husband in March, described her colleague, Iyabo Ojo as one of the people who stood by her during her fertility struggles and a crisis in her previous marriage.

She recalled how the actress travelled to Akure to intervene during the crisis involving her former marriage.

“Iyabo stood by me when I was trying to conceive, Iyabo came to Akure to fight for me in my previous marriage,” Adesanya said.

Toyosi recalled how Iyabo intervened during her previous marriage crisis, even travelling to Akure to confront her ex-husband.

“Iyabo who stood by me when I was trying to conceive, Iyabo who came to Akure to fight for me in my previous marriage. On the 14th of February 2014, on Valentine’s Day, Iyabo called my ex-husband.

“She called the people who were making my life difficult in Akure. She asked if they wanted to kill me.”

Explaining why she continued to show up for Iyabo and her family, Adesanya questioned why she would not reciprocate the support she had received over the years.

“So why wouldn’t I do my responsibility when her grandson is celebrating his birthday?” she asked.

The actress also pushed back against the use of personal experiences for online controversies, saying, “I am not one of the people bloggers would use their sad story to feed”. (Saturday Telegraph)
