Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, on Tuesday held a closed-door meeting with Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, in Ibadan.

The meeting took place at the Governor’s Office at the Oyo State Secretariat shortly after Obi met with former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Although the agenda of Obi’s meeting with Makinde was not officially disclosed as of press time, the visit, however, is widely seen as part of ongoing consultations among opposition leaders.

Speaking on the meeting he had with Jonathan, Obi’s former campaign spokesman and National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide, Yunusa Tanko, said the consultations were part of efforts to build national support.

Tanko explained that the visits to national leaders were aimed at seeking backing for Obi’s political ambitions and promoting unity among stakeholders. (Western Post)
