Against the recurring public backlash, signaling deepening dissatisfaction within the constituency and raising questions about accountability and the widening disconnect between elected officials and the people they represent, a leader of Igbo Stakeholders Forum, Moses Onwughalu, has said that Prince Nixon Okwara would make a whole lot of difference if given the opportunity to represent Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency 2, in the National Assembly in 2027.

Onwughalu who is a media executive and business man said that Prince Okwara is a visionary, successful entrepreneur and philanthropist, the attributes that are needed to succeed in public offices.

He said that with business discipline, community trust, and community engagements, Prince Okwara would change the narrative of abysmal or poor public representation that has become a recurring decimal in the constituency.

His words: “There is a growing frustration and discontent among constituents, many of whom say they feel abandoned by their elected representative. It is because of this negative narrative that we are appealing to the leadership of All Progressives Congress, Lagos State chapter to give Prince Nixon Okwara the ticket to run for the office of House of Representatives for Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency 2, so that he would turn the page. Once he gets the ticket, the rest would be history, because he has made a lot of visible impact in the federal constituency and even beyond.”

Onwughalu said that some of the qualities that stand Prince Okwara out is his community engagements and proven giant leadership strides.

According to him, during community engagements, he listens to understand the challenges of the community, and then responds in real time, unlike the others who would pretend to listen and then disappear from the constituency, only to resurface at the next election circle.

Speaking further, he said that Prince Okwara is a leader with empathy and compassion and has done a lot to uplift the downtrodden.

“During his tenure as the chairman of Greenfield Estate, he demonstrated exceptional leadership prowess. His leadership made the estate to become one of the most respected and well organised estate in Lagos State as a whole. It is on record that in 2014, Greenfield estate was recognised as one of the best estates in Lagos Estate by the Babatunde Raji Fashola’s administration. Also, as a peace maker, he is consistent in promoting peace among the non-indigenes in Lagos State with their host community. He has also used his influence to build a strong relationship between non-indigenes, their host community and government authorities, which has brought peace and progress in Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency,” Onwughalu said.
