The Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) has called on shipping lines, importers, and clearing agents to participate in a one-day stakeholder dialogue on Tuesday, aimed at addressing concerns arising from recent tariff increases in the maritime sector.

The Council, in an official notice, invited all affected stakeholders to an engagement session with its Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer, following a directive issued on March 20, 2026.

The move comes amid ongoing consultations and growing concerns within the maritime and logistics industry over the implications of the tariff adjustments.

According to the NSC, the meeting is designed to provide an open platform for constructive engagement, where stakeholders can deliberate on key issues and work towards a common understanding.

The Council emphasised that the initiative is in line with its commitment to fairness, transparency, and industrial harmony, noting that fostering dialogue remains critical to sustaining growth and efficiency in the sector.

It further urged all parties to comply with the directive and participate actively, stressing that meaningful collaboration is essential to building trust and resolving emerging concerns linked to the tariff increase. (LEADERSHIP)
