The Enugu State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed reports suggesting internal crisis within the party, describing them as false, misleading, and aimed at creating disaffection among its members.

In a statement issued over the weekend by the State Publicity Secretary, Chief Uche Obute, the party specifically refuted claims of nonpayment of stipends to delegates at its recent national convention by some online media, insisting that no such issue existed.

“The report alleging nonpayment of stipends is an outright falsehood, a deliberate distortion of facts, and a figment of the writer’s imagination,” the statement read.

The APC further described the report as a calculated attempt to destabilise the party, adding, “It is clearly a concocted story built on anonymous sources whose credibility cannot be ascertained, aimed at sowing seeds of discord and distracting the party.”

Urging the public to disregard the claims, the party stated, “Our delegates remain committed, loyal, and satisfied with the transparent processes and leadership of the party at both the state and national levels.”

Reacting to separate reports alleging mass resignation of members in Enugu State, the APC described such claims as baseless.

“The allegations of exclusion and marginalisation are completely false and do not reflect the reality within our party in Enugu State,” it said.

The statement highlighted what it described as growing unity within the party under the leadership of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.

“The governor has continued to demonstrate inclusive leadership, carrying along both members of the old bloc and new entrants into the party,” the APC noted.

Citing the distribution of key positions as evidence of fairness, the party added, “Both the old and new blocs are fully accommodated at all levels of party leadership—from the wards to the local government areas and the state structure.”

Reaffirming its unity and focus, the party commended the leadership of the state chairman, Dr. Martin Chukwunweike, stating, “APC in Enugu State remains united, focused, and committed to delivering good governance. No amount of propaganda or sponsored misinformation can derail the steady progress being made.” (The Nation)
