The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Police Command, CP Ibrahim Bakori, during the commissioning
Residents of the Kore community in Dambatta Local Government Area of Kano State have constructed and handed over three office buildings to the police to strengthen security operations in the area.
The newly built offices at the Kore Police Division were commissioned on Thursday by the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Police Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa.
The project, funded and executed by members of the community, was described as part of efforts to support the police and enhance safety in the locality.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of Dambatta LG, represented by the Vice Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Fagwalawa, said the gesture was aimed at complementing ongoing security efforts in the area.
He commended the police for their role in maintaining peace, noting that Dambatta had recorded improved security in recent months.
“Our local government is becoming more secure due to the commitment of the police. The arrest of high-profile kidnappers recently is a significant achievement,” he said.
In his remarks, Bakori lauded the community for what he described as a demonstration of trust and cooperation.
“This initiative shows that security is a collective responsibility. When communities support the police in this manner, it strengthens our capacity to serve effectively,” the CP said.
He assured residents that the command would continue to prioritise community policing and collaborative strategies to sustain peace across the state.
The event was attended by the member representing Dambatta State Constituency, Hon. Murtala Musa Kore; the Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee, Kano State Chapter, Amb. Ali Hassan Bayero; village heads; community and religious leaders; representatives of other security agencies; students; and members of the press.
The police command reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order through sustained partnership with communities across the state. (PUNCH)
