NNPP Leader Kwankwaso
The Kano State government has warned supporters of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf against making inflammatory statements or insulting the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, saying such actions will attract disciplinary measures.
The warning was issued by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Government House, Kano, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, during the distribution of motorcycles to party members at the Open Space Theatre, Government House, Kano.
According to reports, Governor Yusuf was present at the event.
Bature said the government would not tolerate acts of indiscipline or disrespect towards Kwankwaso, describing him as a political leader whose role in Kano politics must be acknowledged, regardless of ongoing political developments.
“We will not accept indiscipline or insults against the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. Anybody who engages in such behaviour will face the consequences. We will not accept it,” he said.
He urged supporters of the governor to conduct themselves with restraint and maturity, especially at a time of heightened political tension following recent realignments in the state’s political landscape.
According to him, the government remains committed to maintaining peace and internal cohesion among its supporters, stressing that political disagreements must not degenerate into personal attacks or abuse.
Bature also reminded party members that respect for leaders and discipline within the political structure were essential for stability and effective governance.
The warning comes amid ongoing reactions and debates following Governor Yusuf’s recent resignation from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), a development that has generated mixed responses within the Kwankwasiyya movement and Kano residents. (Weekend Trust)
