The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), on Thursday, urged its members to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ undiluted in the interest of humanity.

The body said it was worrisome that some gospel preachers had resorted to hearsay.

PFN made this known at its 40th Anniversary and Veterans Awards ceremony at the Redemption Camp near Lagos.

The anniversary had the theme: “PFN: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.”

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the event was attended by Pentecostal church leaders including PFN President Bishop Francis Wale-Oke, Rev. Sam Aboyeji, Archbishop Joseph Ojo, Bishop David Oyedepo and Rev. Cosmas Ilechukwu.

The body recognized Pastor Wilson Badejo of the Four Square Gospel Church and Archbishop Benson Idahosa of the Church of God Mission posthumously.

It also recognized Archbishop Frank Ogagba, Founder of Ever-Increasing Faith Family Church, South-Africa, and others for their contributions to the propagation of the gospel.

The guest speaker and Founder of Eternity Network International, Pastor Joshua Selman, said that the body would do its best to halt misinterpretation of the gospel.

Selman said that hearsay was being preached by ‘fallen soldiers” of Christ, adding that their activities were harmful.

“We are going to rescue the gospel from those that have continued to deviate from the Word.

“Those soldiers that have fallen will also be rescued.

“The rising wave of waywardness among young people can be linked to their teachings,” he said.

Earlier, Bishop Wale Oke said that PFN had the obligation to pray for peace in the society and reform people through its preachings and other activities.

NAN reports that the association prayed for peace in Nigeria. (NAN)
