How I emerged APC National Chairman — Yilwatda

New APC National Chairman, Prof Yilwatda

The newly appointed National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has revealed how he emerged as the party’s leader despite being calm, gentle, and easygoing.

According to Yilwatda, the APC displayed exemplary maturity and smoothness in the selection process, with consultations at all levels.

He stated this during an interview with Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday.

Yilwatda stated that he would follow in the footsteps of President Bola Tinubu, taking tough decisions with a gentle tone and incorporating teamwork for the collective interest of the party.

He emphasised that decisions would not be made alone, but through consultation with the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and other stakeholders.

On how he was nominated by governors, Yilwatda said, “They endorsed me.”

He attributed his emergence to the party’s culture of consultation, saying, “You consult, you discuss, because that is what politics is all about.”

Yilwatda will oversee the party’s affairs in over 20 states and with a majority in the National Assembly. (Nigerian Tribune)
