Gov Fubara
The Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has reappointed His Majesty, Eze Sergeant Chidi Awuse, as the state’s Council of Traditional Rulers.
It was gathered that Awuse, who is the Nne-New-Eli, Emohua, XIII (Olo IV), was brought back to office as part of the ongoing reconciliation in the state after the political crisis.
Awuse, a political ally of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, was kicked out of office by the governor on June 21, 2024, during the peak of the crisis and was replaced with the Paramount Ruler of Apara Kingdom, Chike Worlu Wodo.
But with peace restored in the stare and ongoing restitution to resolve deep-seated acromonies, the governor was said to have brought him back.
A starwment signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Dagogo Wokoma, said the appointment took immediate effect.
The statement said: “His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, the Governor of Rivers State, has approved the appointment of His Majesty, Eze (Sir) Sergeant Chidi Awuse, DSSRS, JP, Nne-New-Eli, Emohua, XIII (Olo IV), as the Chairman, Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers.
