A suspected bandit was lynched by an irate mob in Tse-Nor village, Harga District of Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, after a deadly attack in the early hours of Sunday that left one resident injured.

Zagazola report that the incident occurred at about 3 a.m. when unknown gunmen invaded the village and shot a resident, identified as Iorsue Ukande, in the thigh.

In response, youths from the community reportedly mobilized, overpowered one of the attackers, and beat him to death while others fled the scene.

The lifeless body of the suspected assailant, whose identity was yet to be established, was later recovered and taken to the General Hospital in Katsina-Ala, where he was confirmed dead by a medical officer.

The Injured victim, Ukande, is currently receiving treatment.

Sources within the community said the area had come under frequent attacks in recent months, prompting increased vigilance and spontaneous community defence.

Security operatives have commenced investigation to identify the fleeing attackers and unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident. (Zagazola, excluding headline)
