Late Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, joined his ancestors on Monday, July 7, at the age of 90.
A former Oyo Commissioner of Information Toye Arulogun confirmed the death of Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, stating that an official statement will be released shortly.
His short response to the enquiry reads, “Confirmed. Official statement on the way.”
Oba Olakulehin’s death comes exactly one year after he ascended the revered Olubadan throne, and barely two days after celebrating his 90th birthday.
He was the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, and his life spanned decades of public service, enterprise, and traditional leadership.
