Anambra 2025 APC guber aspirant, Azuka Okwuosa
By PAMELA EBOH, Awka
With the 2025 Anambra State gubernatorial election drawing close, and aspiring candidates filing out, a two-term Commissioner of Works and Transport, Hon. Azuka Okwuosa, has come out to formally declare his interest to run for the coveted seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Okwuosa, also a former local government chairman, was recently met with the APC Ward Chairmen Forum to outline his vision for the state.
He has also started engaging with key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to seek their support for his ambition.
Speaking on his ambition in Awka, the former Nnewi South Council boss harped on the importance of unity and collective effort within the party.
He said: "All hands must be on deck to ensure the party?s triumph in the forthcoming South Senatorial bye-election.
?The success of the gubernatorial election is heavily dependent on the outcome of the senatorial election, and the party must not let the legacy of late Senator Ifeanyi Uba go in vain.
?My decision to vie for the governorship election is driven by my conviction that I possess the entrepreneurial capability and experience in government to effectively lead the state.
Okwuosa also emphasized the need for the party to adhere to the gentleman?s agreement on power rotation, which has been a longstanding tradition in the state.
According to him, the South Senatorial Zone must complete its tenure before the power shifts to the Central Senatorial zone, in order to maintain the established arrangement.
