Nana Otedola and her daughter, Temi Otedola
Nana Otedola, the mother of actress Temi Otedola, has revealed that she was surprised to learn her daughter and singer Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, were expecting their first child shortly after their wedding.
Speaking on the latest episode of the couple’s How Far podcast, Nana said she initially expected the newlyweds to spend a few years enjoying married life before starting a family.
“When I heard that there was a baby, I was a little bit shocked because I assumed you guys were going to have like three years of travelling, being married,” she said.
According to her, Temi reminded her that she and Mr Eazi had already spent years together before tying the knot.
“She said to me, ‘Mom, we’ve dated for five years, we’ve done all of that.’ So I was like, ‘Okay.’ But then now I’ve learned not to be presumptuous about you guys anymore from your wedding,” Nana said.
She added that she believes the couple complement each other well.
“We love it. And I am going to say that you actually do well for each other,” she said.
PUNCH Online had reported that Temi and Mr Eazi announced in May that they were expecting their first child, about nine months after their private wedding in Reykjavík, Iceland.
The couple shared the news in a joint Instagram post featuring photos of Temi’s baby bump, alongside the biblical verse: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.”
Temi and Mr Eazi got engaged in April 2022 after dating for four years and tied the knot in August 2025 at Hallgrímskirkja Church in Reykjavík, Iceland.
Speaking after the wedding, Temi said she married the singer because he was her best friend and the person she wanted to spend the rest of her life with.
Mr Eazi, on his part, said meeting Temi made him realise what genuine love felt like, adding that he never felt pressured to impress her because she valued his time and effort above material gifts. (The PUNCH)
