Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors

Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors team have emerged as runners-up, in the finals of the 2024 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) held in Kaduna State.
The team led by Coach Obinna Nwagba defeated the Kebbi United BSC in an impressive play of the round leather game over the weekend ended in a 3-3 stalemate in full time, while ultimately prevailing in a penalty shootout to win the match.
Recall that Anambra warriors had earlier defeated former champions Kada BSC on the first day of the Super Four playoffs.
Although they suffered a setback in their second game against eventual champions Kebbi BSC, the Anambra Warriors showed remarkable resilience to bounce back.
Speaking on their victory, the team Captain, Gabriel Chinweze expressed delight at the teams achievement even as he acknowledged the setback in the second game.
While highlighting the teams determination to finish strong, he expressed gratitude to the Anambra Beach Soccer Association Board, led by the sole sponsor, Prof Victor Madubuko, the fans, and all those that contributed to the teams success.
Meanwhile, the impressive skills of the teams goalkeeper, Basorun Festus earned him the Best Goalkeeper award for the langue.
Similarly, the Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors second-place finish marks a significant milestone in their journey, growth and potential in the competitive world of beach soccer.
According to the teams media handler, Military Okwudili, the team will leverage on their impressive first national outing to work towards building itself as a force to reckon with in sports.
The first-place winners, Kebbi BSC went home with a grand prize of N600,000, Anambra warriors, N400,000 and third place team, Kebbi United BSC, N300,000 and Kada BSC, N200,000.
