Kidnapped Rev Fr Basil Gbuzuo

The Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha on Friday announced the kidnap of its priest, Rev. Fr. Basil Gbuzuo.
A statement signed by the Chancellor of the Diocese, Rev. Fr. Prudentious E. Aro, said that the Rev Fr. who is a Priest-in-Residence at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, Ogidi, was kidnapped along Eke Nkpor-Obosi by-pass about 8am on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
According to the statement, the metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Valerian M. Okeke has asked for earnest prayers from the faithful for the urgent release and safety of Fr. Gbuzuo.
It added: “Until now, the kidnappers have not established contact with anybody.
“The church has committed the safety of Fr. Gbuzuo to the powerful intercession of our Blessed Virgin Mary.”
