Governor Nwifuru

Ebonyi State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru, has announced an increment of salaries of the academic staff of Ebonyi State University by 20% effect from May 2024.
The Governor also increased the salaries of non-academic staff of Ebonyi State University by 10% while School fees at Ebonyi State University has been reduced by 10%.
Governor Nwifuru also reviewed upwards the Monthly Subvention of Ebonyi State University from N200m to N280m.
Nwifuru stated this on Saturday during the combined 13th convocation ceremony of Ebonyi state University, Abakiliki.
He added that henceforth, first-class graduates of Ebonyi State University, of State origin will be offered automatic employment to lecture at the University, while those who have graduated with first-class, either of Ebonyi State origin or not, enjoys same privilege.
He revealed further that the Alex Ekwueme Teaching Hospital, AE-FUTHA II located along Abakaliki-Enugu Expressway is now know and called, Ebonyi State University Teaching Hospital.
