The suspected thieves

The Neigborhood Watch Operatives in Afikpo Local Government Area of Ebonyi state, on Thursday arrested four Persons suspected who specialised in stealing Transformers and electricity wires in different parts of the country.
The suspects who came from South South Zone of Nigeria, targeted to steal a Transformer at Akpoha in Afikpo Local Government Area.
It was at the verge of carrying the transformer at Akpoha that they were nabbed by the members of the Neighborhood Watch.
It was alleged that they came in the company of an indigene of Akpoha who is currently at large.
The Commander of the Neighborhood Watch, Afikpo LGA, Mr Michael Urom who alongside his men apprehended the Suspects.
He called on the members of the public to report any suspicious persons or suspicious moves to security agencies for prompt action adding that such will help in ending crimes and criminalities in the Society.
The suspects have already been handed over to the Police for interrogation and possible prosecution.
Effects made to reach the Police Public Relations officer (PPRO), DSP Joshua Ukandu, proved abortive as his phone line was not reachable at the time of filling the report.
