After years of remaining in the woods of discomfort due to lack of fund to off-set her medical bill, Miss Glory Chioma Nwachi, can now have the cause to glorify the Almighty God, as the Chairman of Afikpo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Hon Uchenna Nnajiofor Ibiam, has offset her accumulated bill at the Centre of Hope Hospital.

The balance of her bills which amount to N590,000.00 was an impossibility for the patient to raise.

She lamented and bemoaned her lot daily until the Afikpo LG Chairman responded to her cries with succour.

The girl who hails from Amaizu, Afikpo had inexplicable multiple wounds on her two legs which have taken her to several hospitals without positive results.

Last December, she was brought to Centre of Hope Hospital, Afikpo where she had to undergo multiple surgeries and amputation on her two legs.

After the successful surgeries, her hospital bills amounted to N1,190,000.00 (One Million, One Hundred and Ninety Thousand Naira).

Her family members struggled to raise the money but the total amount raised on the whole was N600,000.00, remaining the balance of N590,000 due to inability to pay the remaining balance, Glory Chioma remained in the hospital upon discharged status.

She was devastated with the trauma of living in the hospital even after being discharged. That was the situation until the attention of the Executive Chairman of Afikpo Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Nnajiofor Ibiam was drawn to the scenario on Thursday, 14^thMarch, 2024 and he quickly cleared the outstanding bill of N590,000.00.

As at the time of filing this report, Miss Glory Chioma Nwachi had reunited with her family members, friends and well wishers after five years of serious battle with illness almost claimed her life.
