Combination picture of demolished buildings and Emmanuel Emenike
Former Super Eagles forward, Emmanuel Emenike, has urged Igbos in Lagos State to move their investments to the South East following the recent demolition ofhouses on waterways by Lagos State Government officials.
The Lagos State government, under the supervision of the State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, recently demolished some structures causing setbacks along the Ikota drainage channel area of the state.
Reacting to the demolition of the properties which affected some Igbos in the state, Emenike described it as an act of pure wickedness from the Lagos state government.
According to him, it is a sad thing that the samegovernment that gave the owners of the properties the permission to operate them destroyed those properties later on.
He, however, called on all Igbo people in Lagos State to consider relocating their investments from the state to the South East states.
Captioning a picture of one of the demolished properties on Instagram, he wrote, “The sadness is too much after getting approval from the same Lagos State Government. This is pure wickedness. Igbos are in trouble.
“Bring your investment back home my people. We have Abia State, Imo State, Anambra State, Enugu State and Ebonyi State.” (Nigerian Tribune)
