Gov Soludo
The Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State, Chief Ifeatu Obiokoye, has hinted that Governor Chukwuma Soludo may sack more Transition Committee Chairmen over non-performance in their respective council areas.
Obiokoye, who spoke with DAILY INDEPENDENT exclusively in his office in Awka, opined that more chairmen maybe evicted from office like those of Ihiala and Awka-North local government areas due to complaints of laxity, non-performance and incompetence.
He said the state government is watching the TC Chairmen closely and taking note of those whose work plans and programmes of events reflected the immediate felt needs of their local government areas.
The APGA state chairman who mentioned that the likes of Idemili-South, Dunukofia, Anaocha and a few other TC Chairmen are performing in their respective domains, maintained that more competent hands are required for sustainable development in the hinterlands.
He said, ” A few others who are not performing will also meet the same treatment. But generally speaking, I will give a pass mark to most of them.
It has always been the desire of government to continue to put a process of recycling them based on performance. So anytime we find out that you are not performing in your local government, you will meet the same fate.
So that becomes the elixir for each and everyone of them to work hard to meet the target and expectations of government.
But beyond that, even when they are working hard, it is expected you stay for a certain period of time so that other people would be elected and tried in the same position.” (Daily Independent)
