Igbo rights group, Anya-Ndi-Igbo, has thanked Nigerian Voters across board for heeding its call to vote the Labour Party (LP) Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, during the Presidential Election of February 25, 2023,
Anya-Ndi-Igbo called on voters to further cast their votes for candidates who have integrity, competence, capacity and who would responsive to the common good in the coming elections.
The group expressed its appreciation in a statement signed by Board of Trustees Chairman, Elder Dr. Uma Eleazu, President, Engr Chris Okoye, and Secretary, Sir Okey Nwadinobi, among others
The statement reads in part: “We need to use our hard-earned votes to usher in change that is good for us in general, but especially for our teeming youths yearning for better governance that would guarantee good paying jobs, security, and better opportunities at the state levels.
“We enjoin you to acquaint yourselves with the logos of all the Political Parties to enable you cast your votes appropriately. This is especially important for rural voters, where nomuch voter education was conducted.
“You all came out patriotically to fulfill your civic duties against the so called odds of INEC’s logistics and technical challenges.
“We appreciate your response to our appeal, and we salute you. We hereby call on you once again to repeat the performance during the Gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections on March 18.
“We call on all Nigerians to hold faith with the electoral process, to remain steadfast and law abiding, vigilant and resolute during the elections; even as all aggrieved parties head to the law
courts to get justice for electoral infractions against them and their parties.”
The group urged people to cast their votes and watch over its cast, collated, counted and transmitted.
