Ex-Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola
Former Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, has said President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar are too old to contest the 2027 presidential election.
Oyinlola made the remark on Wednesday during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
He urged both politicians to step aside and give younger Nigerians the opportunity to lead the country.
The former governor recalled that while in office in Osun State, he had stated that anyone above the age of 50 should not aspire to become governor, based on his experience in the position.
Oyinlola stressed that Tinubu and Atiku have done their best and should give younger elements the opportunity to lead Nigeria.
“Tinubu and Atiku are too old to contest the 2027 presidency. They should step aside for younger people.
“When I was in Osun, I made a declaration based on my experience in office that anybody above 50 should not aspire to be governor of a state,” Oyinlola said. (The Sun)
