Sheikh El-Zakzaky
The Islamic Movement of Nigeria ( IMN ) popularly known as Shi’ites has begged President Muhammadu Buhari to compel the security agencies to release the International passports and documents of their leader, Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife Zeenah before leaving the office.
The protesters also demanded the release of their members who were being held at Kuje Correctional Centre since July 2019 during a peaceful protest at the Federal Secretariat Abuja.
The sect described the seizure of travelling documents of El-Zakzaky and his wife as an attempt to kill them.
IMN disclosed this during a procession in honour of Prophet Muhammad’s Daughter’s Birthday Fatima Zahra in Abuja on Friday.
The procession started immediately after the Juma’at prayer at Fu’ad Mosque, beside the Customs office as protesters marched through Wuse Market to Berger roundabout.
He said: ”The procession was in honour of the Daughter of the Holy Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him to mark her birthday anniversary and at the same time to demand for Buhari’s unconditional release of Shaikh El-Zakzaky’s International passports to go for medication outside Nigeria as the Nigerian and the foreign medical personnel recommended some years back.
