Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Justice Peter Umeadi, has expressed shock over the death of the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Ambassador Prof. George Obiozor.

Speaking Thursday while reacting to the news, he said that with Obiozor’s demise, a giant iroko has fallen in Igbo land.

He described Obiozor as a shining star who distinguished himself in the service of his people and country.

According to him, anything Obiozor touched, he made the difference.

The APGA Presidential Candidate said that the late Ohanaeze Ndigbo President General excelled in all the appointments he held both in the military and civilian governments.

Speaking further, he said that when Obiozor was appointed Nigerian Ambassador to the United States, he made Nigeria proud by distinguishing himself in service.

“When he retired from government services and was later elected as Ohanaeze Ndigbo President General on January 20, 2020, he was the only one in a long time who had the correct grasp of issues facing the Igbo nation. In his own words, he avoided the blame game. He stood for the Igbo to take their destiny in their hands and find their way back into the Nigerian polity. I pray that his immediate family find the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. May his gentle soul rest in peace,” Justice Umeadi said.
