Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has said the All Progressive Congress (APC) cannot take full credit for the completion of the second Niger Bridge.

Its spokesperson, Kola Ologbodiyan, disclosed that the projectwas conceptualised by PDP and was already at 38 per cent completion before APC came into power.

He said the Second Niger bridge was work in progress during theadministration of former President Goodluck Jonathan,and wondered why the e APC upon completion of the bridge would want to take full glory rather than give due credit to all parties involved.

“The Federal Government shares in the Second Niger bridge as at the time Jonathan was in office was aboutN30 billion. And before he left the office, about N21.2 billion had been paid. I can clearly say from the reports as at 2015, that 38 per cent of the project was ongoing but when APC came in. But now, that it has been completed, they want to take full credit for the project.One of the biggest problems of the APC administration is that they don’t credit. They would never say that PDP did this and that they completed it,” he said.

Ologbodiyan, who spoke on a television interview, yesterday,lamented the deplorable state of the country across several sectors, hinging it on the inefficiency of the current administration in steering the ship of the country even after being in power for over seven years.

He said rather than being focused on improving the situation of the country through adequate economic, social and infrastructural interventions, the APC administration was occupied with trivial issues.

He alleged the APC had no idea of governance before coming into power which is why they have failed on theircampaign promises of2015.

Speaking ahead of the 2023 general election, Ologbodiyan said his party’s candidate, Atiku Abubakar, was the best man for the job of the president.

He claimed that he was the most competent out of the candidates vying for the post. He described Atiku as a visionary and a forward-looking leaderwith the dedication to correct the ills meted out upon Nigerians by the current APC administration.(Daily Sun)
