The Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), Hajiya Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim, has felicitated with internally displaced persons (IDPs) and persons of concern (POCs) on the occasion of the 2022 Christmas and New Year celebrations.

She, in a statement issued on Saturday, joined millions of IDPs and POCs in Nigeria in celebrating this year’s Yuletide.

She expressed satisfaction with the level of attention being enjoyed by IDPs from both public and the private sectors, noting that this is a departure from the previous order.

Suleiman-Ibrahim similarly expressed satisfaction with the engagement outlets created by the commission to provide skills and capacity buildings for the vulnerables, including wealth creation.

She appreciated the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari “for giving adequate and needed attention to the IDPs across the country.”

The NCFRMI Federal Commissioner promised to initiate “more innovations that will place them in a more productive outlook rather than a liability as it was previously the order of the day.”

She reiterated the commitment of the Federal Government “towards the provision of the highest form of sustainable and durable solution to all persons of concern in ensuring their rehabilitation, reintegration and resettlement.”
